Just You

by Bradley   Jun 30, 2006

I could show you the world and I know it
But as time has passed and feelings have waned
I see your now reluctant to even view my epiphany

I could make that smile last forever
But your allowing others to attract your attention
From what could be the world you longed for

I could make every kiss feel like the first
But that wouldnt show you just how much Ive realized
And now I see you dont even want the memories we shared

So like an old pair of shoes
Im thrown to the side, thoughts, words and all
For a newer pair that wont be as comfy as the ones youve already worn in

As I pour out my emotions
And unwillingly bare my all
I can sense your unenthusiastic tone from a mile off

Give up Im asked
More than once, twice and more
And I will momentarily

But thats all.
On a mission that may take a life time
I wont give up

My arms were made for one person to fit
My lips made to lock with just one other pair
My heart to love just one other
Just you

And you dont even want it.

Do you really speak like that? My brain has never had to consume so much in one reading! LOL. I did, however, enjoy your poem. GOOD JOB

Who knows why one turns away when they know they could "Have the world".Sometimes we need to search the globe to see what is right in front of us.

Sometimes new shoes may hurt and sometimes old shoes can hurt but one really knows until they have tried them on.
