CELEB*REALITY*

by AGirlWorthFightingFor   Jul 2, 2006

Everyone wants to be a celebrity
Get their 15 minutes of fame
But anyone who wants to be a celebrity
Doesn't know how to play the game

Being a celebrity
Is not something that you choose
Get up on stage & do your thing
& let everyone take shots at you

Reading things about me
Or fans meeting face to face
Tell me what I want to hear
Or put me in my place

Paparazzi are a pain
But you can sleep at night
Knowing that they're just
Trailer trash parasites

Fans are harder to discern
& deserve your respect & praise
The ones that love you most
Will leave the second that they feel betrayed

You can't please everybody
& you're risking failure if you try
Those that tell you to please everybody
Are selling you a lie

Because remember that celebrity
It's not you that they're reacting to
It's those things you said & did
That makes them put those knives in you

Celebrity doesn't matter
It's all just smoke & mirrors
Things to say at the water cooler
Among your elders & your peers

I have been a celebrity
& I could have gone to those ends
But I turned & said it was not for me
& went home to my friends

Wow I loved this poem.. and I agree with Sarah.. its true. All of the huge top celebrities dont last very long because the times change and so do the fads, as long as you have a good family and friends thats all you need. Nicely written. I'm glad I checked this out, ur very talented.

Wow great poem. I suppose this is true, but somehow many people in society today still chose celebrities as top role models. No one will really understand that their lives are controlled and unhappy. I love how you proved reality in this one however. Great work, keep it up and thanks for your comment on my poem! 5/5
