A quick eternity

by Shædow Poet   Jul 3, 2006

Life goes by
Quick-
Like the moment your eyes close and reopen
Filled with insane wisdom,
Only a life-long dream can have.
Subsequently,
A life only 6 hours could see.

One drugged up high
Flashes-
Like the sleep a newly wed shares on her honeymoon
Before a continuum of lows then high.
Interestingly,
A life made up of deadly glee.

My life goes by
Faintly-
With a silver tiara and one thousand cheers,
A shattered puzzle with soiled edges.
Loudly,
A photo flash is all that remains.

While the drunk man studies my smile,
In which will cease in his memory
Signaling an emotional ambiguity.
Lips that taste like a familiar mixed drink-
A woman, who,
When a man recites her past in black clouds
Will not realize
The fading taste of her raspberry lips
Are frozen to a quick eternity
Of a life-long dream.

*Clap clap* I take my hat off to your talent (or I would were I actually wearing a hat).
