The Misuse of Friendship

by Tina Carr AKA Snickers   Jul 11, 2006

One day
A young girl found
That her her social life was turned
Upside down
The people she thought
That she could trust
Suddenly looked at her
With disgust
Those dumb jerks
Those so called friends
She knows there's no way
They would make amends
She knows she must
Stay hopeful and strong
Cause she's all alone
Its been that way all along
They're lying
Pretending
Insulting
Offending
Using her
That's all they were doing
And now it's come
To simply eschewing
They were never her real friends
They wouldn't even care if she was in danger
To her, all they can be described as
Is heartless strangers
She will prevail
She'll do good despite
The cruel way they treated her
She'll come out alright

I can totally relate to this poem. True friendship is hard to find.. I'm starting to realize more and more than my so called friends are more like casual acquaintances. Very well written and deep, 5/5
