Loves Dreadful End

by Karen Simpson   Jul 16, 2006

White ships come
You hold me close
One more phrase
You disclose

Turning my head
A tear slips down
Dropping your hand
Toes digging in the ground

The ships horn calls
The Remaining one
Its waiting for you
Beckoning you to come

Time has run short
You look me in the eye
This is the end of love
And my last painful cry

My pain grows numb
Left with a broken heart
I must face the wind
This is a new start

Lifting my hand
Placing a small kiss
Whispering to me
Your last only wish

That again I could be
A whole, happy person
That I would not stay forever
With broken emotion

Leaving the dock
Into foggy seas
Forever in my heart
You shal remain with me

Very nice poem, Karen. It conveys what many families are feeling right now because of the war.
