Robbed of her innocence
Fiction its place
She thought when she grew older
Memories would lose their sour taste.

He ran off with her security
Leaving wounds that would never heal
Took away her purity
Which she now longs to feel.

And as she lays in the darkness
Upon shame-ridden sheets
She dreams of a time
Where her screams will come to cease.

As the tears wet her cheeks
A heart cries out in pain
Her vulnerable self is helpless
A prisoner that can't escape.

A blanket of hate caresses
Her eyes filled with rage
She sits and digs
Her own dark, sullen grave.

And who is here to help her
Push away her poisoned mind
Undo the coils that blind
To let her insides shine?
