To My Son

You are my little man
My one and only true love
And having you with me
Seems like you were sent from above

Sent to protect me
From all the world holds
So now I have to keep you safe
And watch your life unfold

Just me and you forever
No one can get in our way
And I'll be here for you
Until my dieing day

I'll always keep you happy
Even if I go broke
And you'll always make me smile
Even if you tell a bad joke

You'll grow up and make friends
And someday move away
But always know with me
Is a place that you can stay.

Everyday I look at you
And watch you as you grow
I remember our memories
And realize all the feelings you show.

Every morning I wake up
And see the bright smile on your face
And I know that if I lost you
Your memory I never could replace

And now I tell you son
And you better believe it's true
Since the day you were born
I have always loved you.
