Acceleration

by Michael D Nalley   Aug 2, 2006

While traveling in the fast lane of life
I had a quick conversation with my wife
The shortest distance between two points is fine
Of course that would be known as a straight line

Light years between the galaxies
Heavenly bodies race to ecstasies
The visible creation in our sight
Is limited to the speed of light

As she stepped on my words I almost choked
Like my poetic license had been revoked
She said that is more than I need to know
Step on the accelerator and let's go

I think you have to have a certain perspective on life to get the humour here. And I smiled when I got to the end. Thank you, Michael, for brightening my day.
