The bAsics

by Chris   Aug 11, 2006

The suicidal commitment
of individual process
we're judged by what we are wearing
and tend to have in our wallets

The end of high school is now no more the start of college
full-time minimum wage/criminal minds lead to alcoholics

Young adults, searching a whole lifes time to find there purpose
is it worth it? not even having pennies to scratch the surface

It's worthless the opportunities wasted, missed education, lets face it
we could have made it, if only we would have studied the basics.

I am intrigued as to why you changed the format of the poem so early on, it's almost like the first stanza is a mission statement.

Still, aside from that minor oddity it's a compelling piece of social commentary that should make the younger generation ponder.

    Nice job!
