That Door

by Zelly   Aug 16, 2006

In loving memory of Ruth Marie Adsit

A loving mother grandmother and great grandmother

We love you and always will

We will never forget you

My grandma died late tonight,

But to my surprise there was no fright,

A sign of great delight,

Alas a smile that light so bright,

She was so happy as if the rent,

Was haven sent,

But now shes gone,

But never alone,

She went at home,

It made her happy,

This was a nice turn from dull and sappy,

She lived a long life,

Oh what a great run,

There is one thing we all need to know is that she had fun,

She may not have won,

Every thing she tried,

But she never cried,

And when she died,

She didn't lie,

There was no sigh,

But there was a good bye,

She knew it was soon,

She didn't act like a buffoon,

She came out and said it,

We hoped she would regret it,

Yet there was no regret,

I am willing to bet,

It shouldn't have happened yet,

She had no regret,

She had a great life,

One heck of a run,

And so much fun,

For now the day is done,

For we search through the stars,

We search near and far,

For a way to get rid of the scars,

As the day has come to an end,

But well think about her again and again,

For all that matters is she wasn't sad,

For now we know that she was glad,

I look into the sky,

I look some more,

I cry, and cry some more,

Till night turns day,

And day to night,

I cry I pray that we'll be alright,

I cry I pray about that night,

Now shes gone and out a sight,

Always strong,

Always polite,

Always the one to put up a fight,

Well tonight is gone out a sight,

Night is to morn,

Soon into day,

Here comes the sun so I'll have to say,

Have fun while it last,

Have lots of laughs,

And just don't let time pass,

If you do, you could just run out a gas,

No memories,

No good times,

I've got to go,

I say no more,

But don't let anything or anyone you may adore,

Just simply walk right through that door,

That door of no more.

Awh, that was quite good.. The flow was off but it could be improved by shortening some of your lines.. Also, I would recommend that you do not rhyme your poems.. Maybe practice writing them without rhymes for a while and then do that when you are really good.. Nice job though.. Keep your chin up! 4/5
