Dear daddy,
Do you know who I am?
No, so let me explain
I'm a complex person
Always in pain
I wish on shooting stars
That never come true
But now let me say
There is something you can do
Just be there for me
And everything will be OK
Tell me you love me
Show me there are better days
Tell me you'll be there
And that you'll follow through
Say that you miss me
And know I miss you too
Show me who you really are
And I'll do the same
Don't leave me in the past
I want things to change
Call for no reason
Maybe just to say "hi"
Don't ever forget me
And don't let anymore time pass by
Mend my broken heart
If you can't that's fine
But at least say you'll try
And know that I don't mind
Replace the hole
I have in my heart
Be there no matter what
Don't ever let us fall apart
Know that I love you
I'm just a little confused
I'm tired of people making empty promises
And leave me feeling used
I want you in my life
Don't ever think I do not
You're the only one
Right now you're all I've got
Just please stay this time
I don't want things how they were

    A beautifully written piece.I feel blessed to have a dad like mine ,but I do know what its like not to have a dad at all ,for my eldest sons dad left before he was born ,then about 3 yrs ago my son decided he wanted to know his dad ,surprisingly he too wanted to meet my son and they have stayed in touch and get on ok ,but my son has said he does not think of him has a dad just a friend.

    Wow. My dad lives in another state, and im living with my mom. What u said in your poem is exactly how I feel about my dad. I hope everything works out with him. I hope my dad grows up. Keep in touch and tell me how u r wit ur dad. I can give some good advice, and I ma open for some too. All dads have good intentions, It's just a matter if they follow through.
