Dreams of Superman

**wrote this after a dream i had and it kinda bothered me that i never saw who the guy was so i wrote this**

You seemed to appear in my dreams one night
Allow me to tell you of one that just felt so right

I stood on a star-lit beach, alone
Leaning beneath a sky-high palm
Only the moon shone, revealing the unknown
So naive, I just couldn't remain calm

Something came toward me, lurking in the darkness
My hands began to shake, my mind in a race
I became so excited that I was almost breathless
This nervous feeling that I just could not erase

Appearing out of the shadows was my Superman
Time stood still, I was in your arms, where I belong
You're warm body against mine, hand in hand
Through the sands of time, we walked along

Night skies surrounded us as we floated above
Left in the world was only you and me
Guided by the stars, lifted up by love
We went to the moon and the stars, so many

While holding you, My Superman, so tight
You leaned in and whispered in my ear
"Princess, the stars are my witnesses, shining so bright
I'll love you til I die and you'll never have to fear"

My heart sunk as those words were spoken
A feeling of safety and comfort took over me
Those words seemed to be just the token
To piece my heart to what it used to be

I took a chance and whispered something back
"You shattered my protective shell
You gave me the things that I lacked
You make me better and for you I fell"

Someday this dream will come true
Because I learned that from you
