A New Guest

by C Cattaway   Aug 31, 2006

You told me how to see someone;
To see another man.
I cannot understand why you
Won't hold me when you can.

I don't know how you declare love,
And yet you'd rather see
Another one, with arms of love
Wrapped warmly around me.

I cannot truly comprehend
How you can let me go,
For if you love the way you do,
In those words, there's no show.

It hurts to think you'd let me go
When I give everything
To make you see that you're the one;
The only one for me.

I want to live a happy life,
To hold you all the time.
I do not want another love.
You said you would be mine.

But now that he has shown interest,
You think that I should try
To win over his heart, like yours,
But I do not know why.

I couldn't wait until that day
That we could cross that line.
I want to hold my head up high.
With you, I could feel fine.

But you have told me to move on.
You said it's for the best.
So I will try, and open up
My heart, to a new guest.
