Prismatic Addict.

by Ironic Allure   Sep 3, 2006

Close your eyes so you don't feel these synthetic dreams.
We wake up in the break down and it's a split decision.
Knock it back and let the carousel revolve around the risks.
Fate deals the cards and this time the hand is fixed,
All this gritty glamour has gone straight to your head,
There's no free will when you're crashing and hungover,
Cue the scene where I'm the one to make it how it used to be,
We know I'm not the answer, so forget you thought it was me,
Thunderbirds and candyfloss lay at your fingertips,
Choke back that toxic smoke with your alcohol laced lips
And chew those little miracles, those bloody, savoury pills.
We know you're not a poser, who's purely in it for the thrill,
It's more than just a habit in the palm of your dirty hands,
Every breath is a snapshot, where preschool logic stands;
It's ridiculous to be weighed down with heavy thoughts like these,
Lighten up and float away to anywhere that you please.
I can see it in your eyes again, you're falling asleep too soon,
Put your arm around my shoulders, we'll stagger to your room.
And together we'll find some shut eye, knowing problems are prismatic,
Facades could be explained, with no more reason for this addict.
Here we go from the top, fall flat on your face to the floor,
When there's nothing left but another hit, that's the time to crawl.
I know in the morning I'll watch you smoke, then I'll watch you leave,
While I sit feeling smaller than the fags inside your jeans.
I'm beginning to hate the sound of your voice; there's no feeling there.
You can't see yourself falling from a cliff; Facts are, you don't care.
Whether you were pushed or whether your jumped, the outcome will not change.
For the last 5 years, a cig in hand, your expressions stay the same.
Yeah, It's true, I'm fed up of you, but I'm still standing here.
And if I could speak of the sights I've seen, I'd make my point quite clear.
I won't give you the satisfaction, so there'll be no more sad songs,
When primal screams will disagree; I'll know I'm not wrong.
