Bleeding Tears [Villonet]

by Jessica   Sep 9, 2006

Tears slowly falling down her pale cheeks
Uncaringly blotching the once perfect face
Uncontrollable sobs clearly heard from afar
Its as if all the pain she has felt suddenly leaks..

Staring into the hearts of the stars, she speaks
Softly praying for a dear one, praying for love
Desperately trying to suppress her deep sobs
Tears slowly falling down her pale cheeks..

Since the death, it has only been two weeks
Closing painfully sore eyes, licking dry lips
Running a finger across his engraved name
Its as if all the pain she has felt suddenly leaks..

Tears slowly falling down her pale cheeks
Alone she sits in a cemetery painfully weeping
Its as if all the pain she has felt suddenly leaks..

Villonet:

A hybrid of the Villanelle and the Sonnet. It has the Iambic Pentameter of both,
but holds the four-stanza/line structure of the sonnet, while utilizing the two-line rhyme nature
of the villanelle. The final stanza replaces the sonnet couplet with a typical villanelle tercet.
