The 5th Anniversary

by Daisy if you do   Sep 19, 2006

It's the fifth anniversary and we've still not forgot,
About the neighbors, loved ones, and children we sought,
The Towers may have fallen on that September morn,
But it changed our lives and a renewed spirit was born,
We gasped at the occurrence and held our breath,
Across the news was a glimpse of death,
Minutes later we heard of a second crash,
Our lives stood still as America gasped,
But yet the clocks were still turning,
For the safety of everyone, Americans were yearning,
The damage that morning had only begun,
When we learned of the fire at the pentagon,
More loved ones we prayed would escape,
Just staring at the TV with our mouths all a gape,
We called our loved ones to see if they were safe,
As the south tower crumbled into one massive grave,
The shadows of the towers crumbling down,
The dust and debris that covered the ground,
A plane that would crash in a Pennsylvania field,
A terrorist plot diverted was later revealed,
From the field, the pentagon, and the depths of ground zero,
Every victim, every loved one, and every unsung hero,
We know why our soldiers are fighting in Iraq,
Fighting for justice and watching our back,
We will never forget, it's engraved in our mind,
How the world stood still making history in time.
