It's windy today

by Melissa   Sep 19, 2006

Familiar translucent swirls
of a crisp new season
tangles itself
around the same scenery
that once stood motionless,
scared,
and bored

Now someone (something)
seems to be stirring the view
with intimacy
as if he (or perhaps she)
were a God
with many hands
brushing my hair
into a mess of beauty
and not
just some windy day
wrestling with innocent trees
then carelessly stealing life
from yet another leaf

You reminded me to appreciate the beauty this world has to offer. So many times the simplest things just pass us by unnoticed. Great job!

I had to see for myself why this poem was one of the winners for the weekly contest. Now I know why. This poem is really excellent it has no flaws that I can see. It flowed beautiful and it pulled me deep into it. You have painted a picture that should be exposed in a gallary. You have done a wonderful job. Keep up the excellent work. I really don't understand why you don't have a 5.0 rating, but I guess some people don't see the true beauty of it. 5/5
