Once upon a time, a story of change.

Once upon a time there was a girl;
a girl who loathed and despised the whole world.
This girl, you see, was very depressed--
she never vented; her feelings suppressed.
She frowned all day and cried all night,
she was always on edge and ready to fight.

This girl, of course, grew older day by day..
saw people perish from extreme hunger and poverty.
She saw the conditions she knew she could never survive,
and began to appreciate this environment in which she could thrive.
All of her anger, and all of her tears,
all of her hate and all of her fears,
soon seemed pointless and disappeared.

This girl realized there is more to life,
then feeling pity for one's self even with strife.
Life is tough on all different levels,
and even if you make it through,
there's no guarantee of a medal.
But think it through,
and follow your dreams for no one else
but you.

You may wonder how I am qualified to tell you these things,
The treasure I promise that each life CAN bring,
I'll tell you my friends just how this came to be,
this girl I speak of...
is me.
