In Endless Rapture

by Biscuit   Sep 27, 2006

Twinkling stars,
shining moon
illuminate the night;
provoking the eye to gaze
in endless rapture.

Freshly cut grass,
baking bread
declare dawn;
provoking the nose to smell
in endless rapture.

Songful birds,
laughing children
herald the morning;
provoking the ears to listen
in endless rapture.

Soft and smooth,
rippling water
furnishes the day;
provoking the fingers to touch
in endless rapture.

Sweet delicacies,
precious lips
adorn the mouth;
provoking the tongue to taste
in endless rapture.

Life's small pleasures
through sensual perception,
unveil great mysteries.
Provoking the mind to think
in eternal awe.

    I really liked the way you described things in such a way that I could actually picture it in my mind while I read! Your 3rd stanza really touched my heart.
