He's My Destiny

He's My Destiny

My heart sees him in my minds eye
Not his features, nor his face
I see the poetry written in his soul
His passion enthralls me
Quickens my heart, steals breath
The love he is capable of scares me to death

So I will pray to the good Lord above
God please guide him to me
Let me hear his voice whisper on the wind
Hear his joy in the giggle of a child
Receive his gentleness in a baby's sleepy sigh
Feel his spirit as I watch an eagle fly

God I will know him when you bring him to me
He will be the one who understands
That at times I need the chocolate cheesecake
Or a solitary walk along the lake
There will be times when he says everything wrong
And that I cry over sappy old songs

He is the one that I will love
With all of my heart and my soul
The one who I will stand beside
In the happy and the sad, the good and bad
He is the one I will love til my death
Holding my hand during my last sigh, my last breath
