Tossed Aside

by Midnight Sun   Sep 29, 2006

My mind melts with your satin words
You leave me in a pool of water
But you so often take that for granted
And I'm but a lamb led to the slaughter

You play the strings of my heart
Like that of an ancient instrument
But you throw it so often to the side
And leave me in my eternal torment

I long for your love with every breath
I crave the attention you give
But with every passing second I die a little more
As you continue to live

Why is it that I keep going back
Why am I so drawn to you?
All you do is throw me away
And act as if me you never knew

I must play this game by your rules
As if your words were law I must abide
I try so hard to please you
But all I'll ever be is "tossed aside"

This one caught my attention right away because of the first line, "my mind melts with your satin words" that first line is so important. The only stanza that didn't flow was the forth one and I really liked the ending
