Complacency

by Sean Allen   Sep 30, 2006

As the last ember dies,
your lips slowly part
and in the echoes of a sigh
I finally realize

this complacency was a lie;

all I've ever learned
from the things I'll never try
and all I've ever known
from tears I'll never cry

is that all I can take away
is that this feeling won't ever stay.

This complacency was a lie.

    A nice piece of poetry with a great flow. To regret the things we've never know is a great choice for a poem.

    It was sad and powerful, yet it still had somewhat of a delicate beauty as well. The first line was my favorite. Keep it up

    Well done. the flow was great and the content of the poem very wonderfully done.

    Great subject to write about.
