A Mid-Summer's Eve

by Bryan   Oct 1, 2006

Her face is beautiful
like a mid-summer's eve,
that makes me think back
to memories I retrieve.

Of all the days I stared
at her beautiful face,
its all I have left
in this horrible place.

I sit here now
filled with glee,
on thoughts of summers
she spent with me.

All this time I wanted
to tell her this,
but the chances go by
and every time I miss.

A special place for her
my heart still keeps,
whenever she is around
my heart still leaps.

I don't know how
but i know its true,
cause when I wrote this poem
I thought only of you.

A very solid poem. It reminds me of the lyrical writing of Andrew McMahon. Great job.
