That's The Very Thing When You're Dealing With Me

by Ironic Allure   Oct 1, 2006

I absolutely love it when you make me smile.
It's all I can do to figure you out,
I can feel your fingers running down my spine,
And you wouldn't be at all out of line.
There's a little part of me still listening,
It's just that part isn't hearing anything.
At times like these, there's stars in your eyes.
I daren't close mine for fear of missing out,
On everything that I've been waiting for.
But the reflection of your eyes shows mine,
The certainty gained is thrown out of line;
That's the very thing when you're dealing with me.
The back of your hand has your to-do-list,
Half way down I can read my name,
Well this silly grin might give it away, but,
It's cute the way you sit so closely,
Like you're the next best thing sat next to me.
And the moment has passed, but it's alright,
When did these nights all blend into one?
Perhaps it's safer doing things for your benefit,
Make you want me more for just that little bit.
But these fading lights have got me chasing shadows,
And I'm pretty sure this is another one of those mistakes,
Where you've learnt all the lessons before it's just,
There's nothing to stop you making new regrets.
