Pool of Guilty Tears

Pool of Guilty Tears

haunting past thoughts, actions
invade my mind
sinking into deep depression
body consumed with pain
searching, pleading
craving forgiveness
drowning within
a pool of guilty tears

Really short and powerful, a talent which is hard to master.

The creativeness of the pool of tears is one thing, but to add an extra spin on it, you make them guilty tears. It really shows the regret of something, something that haunts this character for their life and is the cause of this deep depression which lingers and does not disappear.

Craving forgiveness is really powerful - and for me, it indicates that the guilt comes from hurting someone very close, and perhaps they have never forgiven something you did or did not do/say.

I think this poem is honest and I am sure we all have this puddle of tears, of guilt, and we all have someone we want to forgive us for something. Very relatable poem, you worded it well in such a short poem.
