What is Beauty?

by Angie   Oct 17, 2006

What's with all
these commercials about
women having to
be skinny to
look beautiful.

Every channel I
flip to has a
different product of
how to lose weight.

Today's society puts
so much pressure
on teens, making
us believe we must
be thin to be pretty.

What has this
world come to
I ask. Where
the media manipulates
our minds.

Hourglass figures
thin petit waists
and faces painted
with to much make-up.
It's ridiculous, I say.

In every magazine
I have the unfortunate
pleasure of seeing;
holds a picture of
a 'perfect' looking woman.

Why can't the media
for once in their lives
show a photograph
of someone 'real?'

Are we not beautiful,
the way we are?
So what if you don't
have a thin waist or
big lips, what does it matter?

In my opinion
beauty comes in
all shapes, sizes
and colors.

Imperfection is
the true key
to beauty,
don't you agree?
