Something Happens

by silence   Oct 25, 2006

Something happens
And we battle our differences
Soon in time
We will have to face our consequences

You come home late,
I go out too much.
You look mad
But you're cool to the touch

You yell
I scream
If we were serious
This would be a bad scene

I slam a door
You throw a shoe
Then we both remain silent
Not knowing what to do

In time
One will speak
Will the other respond
Or turn a cheek

Is it over?
What to say
This won't last
Another day

The phone will ring
And you will throw it
It lands on the couch
With a hard hit

Either you'll get madder
Or smile at me
Then I can tell you're over it
Happy again we can be

Now the battle is over
And what have we won?
Just imagine
Our lives have just begun.
