The Carpet Weren't Rolled Out.

by Ironic Allure   Nov 10, 2006

I'm on my way to Hollywood,
Where the carpet's not rolled out.
It's all about the pavements,
It's all about the broken signs.
Waking in the morning
With sunsets in our eyes.
But I'm only here for me tonight,
To sit beneath the city lights.
While losing pretty much everything.
I'd do better to just forget you,
That's the bolder thing to do.
But I just don't have the energy,
So let me down gently,
We both know It's got to come soon.
I'm not speechless; I know what to say,
It's just not polite to say it.
And if I could, I'd tune you out,
I just want to listen to sad songs now,
Fall asleep under the moon,
And wake in the morning without you.
There'll be no goodbyes,
No more surprises,
I'll just wake up and wait for the tide,
To ebb away feelings and wash away time.
That sounds alright.
Alright?
But the carpet's not rolled out tonight,
Hollywood's turned out the lights,
And of course I know,
That if it rains or snows,
You won't be there.
Let's review my wishes and sweep them up,
Beneath the carpets, beneath the rugs.
And I'm sorry that it took all night,
But I broke the spell and I realised,
We got nothing but a popped balloon.
So, I'll stick the pieces in the pocket of my jeans.
And it's not ambiguous, it's just what I mean.

What don't you understand about the profile?
You have no visible nipples. You're flat chested.
