Traditions on a Thanksgiving Celebration

by Scrittore   Nov 23, 2006

The autumn leaves have vanished from the trees
No longer able to wear just a sweater and jeans
We pull out our hats and mittens just to keep heat
While inside it’s nice and warm as families meet & greet
Hugs and kisses passed from one to another
Help in the kitchen is easily found for the mother
The children at play while the adults reminisce
On times they haven’t shared, times they have missed
5 o’clock, the turkey is done the table properly set
Everyone takes their seat, heads bowed - hands met
Going round, the family each is given a chance to say
What they are most thankful for on this autumn day
