Sunrises and Sunsets

by Scrittore   Nov 27, 2006

You’re my alarm clock at sunrise
My first ray of sunlight
a big cup of coffee
to start my day of right

You’re my comics in the paper
My first laugh of the day
The 6 o’clock news
To get my morning underway

You’re my sun that rises in the morning
My light that carries me through the day
The painted colors in the evening sky
As you let my sunset slip to twilight

I liked it's simplicity and the easygoing way it rhymed. It seemed to get a little more heady the last stanza, less simple but it was still very nice nonetheless. 5/5 but I think that the last stanza could be made to follow the flow of the rest of the poem much better
