Left Wanting

Just a step further, reaching farther
No.....................I've lost it.
I cannot see what I truly believe any more

I was given a path to walk, the light to follow
Loving arms guided me every step of the way
I closed my eyes once...............that's all it took

I am alone

To wander the vast distance of my doubts, my sorrows
I cannot understand what I truly feel any more, what I seek
And in seeking that which I want most, I cannot find such a comfort

I am denied

The path? oh! I was to follow it
But now it is behind me, lost again in the confusion
Confused? Such a simple word for an emotion so devastating
A feeling so devoid of peace
That the harmonious tones of love cannot be kept inside

I am fallen

Asking myself for joy - found wanting
How pathetic a notion - how trivial a pursuit
I let my questions leave unanswered

Wait!
Come back!
Please?
I am unknown
