Outside the window

by Drew Gold   Dec 12, 2006

I watch trees from my woods,
black bark against a cyan sky,

like a hundred thousand bolts
of dark lightning, twisting
up from their earthy roots,
skyward, into the storm.
the breathing dome
of nature, arching electrically,
wild from branch to branch

That was SO good. I really loved it. I was just looking outside at the sunrise and looking at a tree against the sky and just looking in amazment and then you captured it in words. Wonderful timing! lol....great job once again.

I was worried at first, who would apply for assistant. But I have read several of your poems and know you have the potential to help us.
