Blame

by Scrittore   Dec 14, 2006

If I turned and walked away would you care to speak my name
would you turn around and walk away too?
If I turned and walked away would you dare to lay the blame
Would you think that it’s I leaving you?

You’ve been gone
I’ve been here
You’ve found love
I’ve found tears
Crying your name out alone in the night
I’ve gone unaided
As a mother
I’ve lost my heart
You’ve gained another
Leaving our kids without their birthright
There’s so many things that I can say
But instead I just turn and walk away
--still lovin you

I don’t remember the day you started to change
Though it wasn’t hard to see
That somehow someone had came
And stole your heart for me
I can’t count the days you came home late
Your excuses began to repeat
And somehow someone became
The one that made you complete

You’ve been gone
I’ve been here
You’ve found love
I’ve found tears
Crying your name out alone in the night
I’ve gone unaided
As a mother
I’ve lost my heart
You’ve gained another
Leaving our kids without their birthright
There’s so many things that I can say
But instead I just turn and walk away
--still lovin you

If I turned and walked away would you care to speak my name
would you turn around and walk away too?
If I turned and walked away would you dare to lay the blame
Would you think that it’s I leaving you?

IMHO, I didn't care too much for the flow. I like the content, but not the cadence. I think that it takes away from the words and feelings you have put into this piece. Overall, however, I do believe its a nice piece with a good bit of emotion. I particularly loved these lines,

    "You’ve been gone
    I’ve been here
    You’ve found love
    I’ve found tears"

Simple, but a lot of meaning, with a nice flow and rhyme. The flow off the tounge nicely. *4/5 Best wishes, and blessed be.
