From a vampire's point of view

by *Raven Angel*   Dec 16, 2006

Catch my falling tears, and let them stain
Don't shun away your hand in disdain
They burn, I know, but so does love
You still hold on to it, embrace this touch

Drops of crimson that cause little craters on your skin
To you, is crying blood considered a sin?
I am what I am, I am what I want to be
Do you even know how to live your life righteously?

I cannot say I know everything, for I am young compared to many
But I do know more than you will ever feel
Immortal I am, though as lonely as can be
Damnation has caused my heart to look for my own humanity

You should learn to live, but you will never realize
The meaning of life in an immortals eyes
For we understand the hopes, the fears, the truth
But...we can never live it again, like you seem to

We can never enjoy the feeling of knowing there will be an end
We watch the hundreds of deaths of our mortal friends
When the sun comes up, we hurriedly cower
We lose what we first believed was to always be ours

You should never fear us, for we are weaker than you
Never in real life, did we try to find the truth
Thinking immortality would be our salvation in Hell
We never had a chance to discover our true human selves

What are we doing alive, for our dead life can be wasted
We kill brazenly until our thrist is temporarily sated
We are damned.....we have brought this upon ourselves
Why did we think life was hard, when immortality is Hell?

I think it's perfect just the way it is! I really liked the way you've described things and most of the facts you said about vampires are pretty unique. Awesome write!
