My foolish heart

by ivan070   Dec 20, 2006

The lady of my dreams;
Came unto me one day;
As a complete stranger;
But our feelings were mutual;
And a friendship grew instantly;

Her company brings unto me;
Pleasure and inspirational joy;
Illuminating an empty heart;
And awakening my tired soul;
We shared many enjoyable moments;

I was enchanted by her femininity;
For she completes my everyday life;
And without any hesitation;
I wished she was mine;
For the old saying dictates:
A courteous and polite lady
brings out a man's gentleness;
While a true gentleman brings out
a lady's heart;

But fate is always
A cruel and surprise game;
Inflicting pain and misery;
When we least expects it ;
It was a mistake of my foolish heart;
And my blinded eyes has led me astray;

Unknown until my discovery;
She harbored her love for another man;
And shall never be mine;
Sad but very true;
She has only friendship to offer me;

My hopes are now all shattered;
And I have fell from the very top;
My heart is broken
But I will not let her see me cry;
With hidden tears and despair
I put on a smile and told her;
Her happiness shall always mine;
And I truly appreciated our friendship...
I left her with my best wishes and
all a gentleman could do...
