Ruler of My Heart

Rulers are like hearts they are made to be broken
Words are like laws they are made to be spoken
Rules are like laws that have some goal
Knowledge is the truth that feeds the soul

The soul is the essence of every creature
Containing within it an immortal feature
Can the cause of life be measured by a rule?
The effect of Love is often missed by the fool.

The wisdom of laws comes from the source
Or is it the laws that provide the course?
We may follow a course with firm resolve
In the hope our heart and soul will evolve

Is the rule of our heart the cause or the effect?
When it is our own will to accept or reject?
Created by a ruler with Love beyond measure
The ruler of my heart gives infinite treasure

    Lovely piece! I thought this was real deep. I loved every stanza, but this line somehow just stood out the most:

    "The effect of Love is often missed by the fool."

    I think that should be a quote. Hmm..perhaps you should take some lines from your poems and submit it as quotes, cos they're all so deep. Hehe!
