Backstab!

by David   Jan 11, 2007

The blade deep inside my back,
Twisting and turning,
Painful and burning,
A dagger full of my lack.

I scream for a stop to this,
Voice within,
Telling me something,
More numbness like bliss,

Soul and memories drain from me,
Drip Drip,
From my lip,
Leaving just pain for me to see,

Who is my murderer I ask,
Twist and turn,
Wounds will burn,
But i cannot see past the mask,

Crimson river as my life begins to fade,
Death is nigh,
I ask myself why,
I ask what enemies I have made,

And at the last breathe and goodbye,
Enemies none,
Except for one,
I see past the mask,
I see him at last,
For the murder is I,

I like the style in which you wrote this. The storyline is intriguing too. I wasn't expecting the ending. As usual, another excellent poem by you, glad to see them still coming. =] 5/5
