I don't always tell you I love you
Because I don't always know
Sometimes I feel wary
And sometimes I let it show
You won't always feel secure with me
Because I'm not secure with us
I'm selfish with almost good intentions
And I'm not someone to trust
Buy every once in a while feelings catch me
Because deep down I've got a good soul
So every once in a while I'll fall for you
And for that while only you'll make me whole.
I know once in a while isn't much,
Because most of the time we're not safe.
Too often I'm torn away by someone else,
But I'll fall in love with you again.
People may not understand how my feelings work,
Because you're not supposed to hurt those you love.
But I try to protect you from my selfishness
And I'm sorry if it's not enough.
I try to love you on more occasions than I do,
Because I know we've got something great.
And I hope one day I can control what destoys us,
And I hope we survive my mistakes.
I don't always tell you I love you
Because I don't always know.
But I promise sometimes it overwhelmes me.
So I'll try to keep my selfishness under control.
