A family legacy

Our family has been in many American wars
our would come home with many battle sores

we fought the rebels and the Brits
we never gave up or called it quits

we never hated either one
we embraced them like our sons

we treated them well when we did win
it didn't matter their previous sin

we fought the nazis and the fascists
we went to vietnam against the communists

we've been to korea and normandy too
we did our duty, we were never very blue

we serve our country still
we go wherever our nation will
