Whisper in the wind (story/poem)

by Carley   Jan 18, 2007

A whisper in the wind
Tells you it's going to end
Then your life plays in your mind
You think of everyone you're leaving behind
You start to think over
Your life cover to cover
What should you have done?
Could you have had more fun?
A lot of stupid mistakes
You'd rather not make
So much left to say
Couldn't you die another day?
You begin to cry
Keep asking why
The clouds part
You try to dart
Wings stop you from moving
Angels sing a song rather soothing
They bring you to the pearly gates
Where God judges your fate
"I'm sorry my child,
Your sins are just too wild,
To hell you go
I'm sorry you know."
You begin to cry greatly
"Unless those cuts were made mistakenly."
You look at your wrists
Hands clenched into fists
Two deep cuts oozing
Look's like you're losing
"I'm sorry God I don't want to lie
But I am the reason I died"
God stares blankly into your eyes
"You didn't even take time for goodbyes?:
Your eyes water and turn red
"They all wished i was dead."
"Take another peek,
If it's the truth you seek."
God opened the clouds and light shown through
"Oh God, what do i do?"
Your close friends on the ground
Made such a great sound
They sobbed and they cried
"Why did he want to die?"
The clouds closed again
"Now do you see my friend?"
"I'm sorry i thought it was best,
But what i did was just so messed"
"I'm sorry son
But you have come
There's no going back
And that's a fact."
"Please god don't do it,
I don't think i'll make it"
"Oh but son
Your time is done"
And slowly you go down
As God begins to frown
"Oh god i don't want to go!"
You scream as you fall low
You reach a place
Your head hung low in disgrace
"Why do you look so sad?
Hell isn't all that bad!"
The devil grinned so slightly
"At least not for me, Almighty."
The devil laughed and yelped
"Wasn't cutting so much help?"
