The Cookie Monster Soliloquy!

by ephemera   Jan 19, 2007

So you see... I was in English and we were reading Hamlet and had to write soliloquy's and I didn't really want to. So I rebelled a little and wrote this...

To eat, or not to eat, that is me question.
But me no think me can live without me cookie
Threatened by possibility of being eaten by Miss Piggy,
No! Me no like that. To bake, then eat,
To bake is dream; for cookie taste so good warm
Me can feel mouth water at very thought
Of sweet chocolate chip. To bake, then eat,
Eat is much better than bake,
Get cookie faster without burning fur,
But either way me get cookie still,
But me would rather get cookie from Gordon
Then visit Elmo and eat cookie. But me have question,
Me don't know where they live,
Everyone live on 1-2-3 Sesame Street,
Wait, so does me! So where can me gets cookie
Without make cookie?
Oh well, me is walking down street
And me can't see where me is going,
Me eyes are too googly and me is going in circles,
No, everything is becoming circles like cookie,
Me knock on trash can and no answer,
Then me sees something round like cookie,
Grey and very shiny, like treasure,
As mouth closes on tough cookie me realize
This no cookie, this trash can!
Me run to rob store of cookie in disgust.

It sounds funny - but you got his language so right that while I was reading it I was reading it in the Cookie Monster's VOICE in my head for goodness sakes! :) Good job.
