Sorrow's Waters

by Kait   Jan 26, 2007

Waves crash upon the hot, white sand of a lonely beach.
You're the only one around.
You sit on your jacket and hug your knees close to your chest.
Your eyes are red and swollen from the night that you just spent crying.
The breeze from he ocean softly blows your hair.
It feels good on your flushed face.

Suddenly, the day turns to night without you realizing it.
The air is growing colder.
The gentle spray of the water doesn't help you stay warm.
You get up as if to put your jacket on.
Instead, you walk straight ahead toward the darkened waters.

It's bitter cold but you go deeper and deeper.
You go until you can't feel the soggy sand beneath your feet.
Your head slips under and it doesn't seem to matter.

It seems as if hours have passed.
When only you under for a matter of seconds.
But, it was just enough time.
You sorrows have been drowned.
And, were washed away with the gentle roar of waves.

Nicely done. You tell us a bit too much, as in "Your eyes are red and swollen from the night that you just spent crying" We can guess at that. The visuals are there, without all the wordiness

That was well written. The emotion was felt through the words and the flow from line to line was particulary good. I enjoyed this very much.
