I Need You

by Toni   Jan 27, 2007

I tried to stand tall; I tried to be brave
No one heard me; no one knew what I craved
It was you, it was all you
You're here but you're a thousand miles away
And I'm counting down every single day
Shadows follow me but I wade right through
Maybe one day this isn't what I'll have to do
I'll be free.... and you'll be you

Reordered thoughts and unspoken sighs
I've been through the lows, you helped me to rise
I saw you, you believed me
Something's telling me I'll always need you
Even after the thunderclouds are through
I wish for this need to end, I wish it to live
I'm the one who won't trust, you're the one I'll forgive

Stinging afterthoughts I couldn't say out loud
Stranded in the icy midst of a stifling crowd
You don't know it, you won't
It's everything short of nothing and the word 'okay'
Never really means anything. I'll love another day
When the time is right, its something they wont understand
If I can dream it I'll live it. In the mean time I reach for your hand.
