Convinced.

by Ironic Allure   Feb 4, 2007

I wonder if you're still defending this,
when your promises crashed like glass,
with every look that spoke more than,
your words ever could.
i've not just quit speaking for fearing the worst,
but you've got your own perception on things you've heard,
and i'm not about to let you twist my words again,
because you need to find something to feel.
you're the only one breaking me down like this,
when i don't have the energy and don't have the strength,
and this is not how you envisioned me,
i'm not the things you thought i would be.
sometimes the days drift away from my side,
and you swear you saw me opening up again.

well if you show me where the stars shine in the sky,
i'll show you where the rain comes in,
and i'll show you the summer breeze,
and i'll show you the hurricanes,
when we're done, you can put me down again.
and i won't hold it against you in the end,
if you figure you don't know me any better than before.

your body against mine can keep me warm,
just don't pretend that you know me at all.
your body against mine can keep me warm,
just don't pretend that you know me at all.
your breath can't save mine.
