My Forever Valentine

by Lu   Feb 8, 2007

Great mountains spill and
the earth does quake
and love sometimes teeters on
the petals of a dream

Only to wake up alone
realizing, you are so very alone
then to live and die within the
same agonizing breath

Stinging tears pierce my heart
my foolish, foolish heart
Then to realize, be there not
beauties found, even within our flaws

As I weep for forgiveness
you stroke my hair and kiss my lips
and at that very moment
your heart fits perfectly in mine

Great mountains spill and
the earth does quake
and love sometimes teeters
but you will always remain

My Forever Valentine

Author's note:
Arguments will happen and tears will flow
and sometimes we may feel like we are living in a dream.
It is only when we open our eyes real wide do we come to realize, we too have flaws just as our partners do.
Hold on to the one you love, flaws and all. Never try to change the person you feel in love with.

Beautifully written and not often mentioned in love is that none of us is perfect and at some point we will hurt and be hurt and dissapoint and be dissapointed simpley because we are human. I found this poem honest and refreshing.
