You're a Lie of Inner Peace

by Braeden Monks   Feb 11, 2007

So why do you pour it out
No one is making any sense
Keep your feelings in your mouth
You're too intense

And I don't know why you're looking up
There's no god above,
If there was why would he look down?
And if he did, He'd frown

But you still wait for some kind of sign,
But my truth, my dream
Is to leave religion behind,
But you are too brainwashed it seems

Disagree, then why read?
Your own god is a lie
If you believe
Then why not die?

You're not my teacher
And I'm not a preacher
You chose to listen to me
I tell you, I just can't believe
In some old broken telephone game
The Bible, I have read line by line
It has no answer except that you sin
Why live life so boring,

Learn, Work, Breed, Die then Repeat

We're Lost in a faze of endless religions
And each one has a major contradiction,
Show me the truth and I'll show you the lie
But in the end we'll all just fall prey and die

You are a very wonderful writer. the way you word things is very good. i have a few comments though. have u even read the bible? u make a lot of statments that are very arrogant to what religion actually teaches. it seems to me like you have no idea what its about. thats just my opinion. i might be wrong. i really did like the poem though. 5/5

I fear most of your high ratings were based on content rather than quality. The rhythm, something that challenges us all, was off. It wasn't an easy read, and poems should flow.
