It's Hard to Be Happy

It's hard to try and be happy
When the friend that I thought I had
Ends up being a two-faced friend.

It's hard to try and be happy
When the girl I thought had my back
Goes and flirts with the man I love.

And worse, steals away this man's heart
Right from under my very nose.
See why it's hard to be happy?

You'd think she would have a little
Consideration for feelings
That would get hurt in the process.

You would think that she would back off.
But that is not the case at all.
She goes out with him secretly.

It's hard to try and be happy
When my eyes are swollen and red
Because of the tears that I cry.

It's hard to try and be happy
When she thinks it's my fault I'm sad.
Won't see past her own selfishness.

When this friend could have any boy,
But nonetheless she chooses mine.

It's hard to try and be happy
When I then have to fake a smile
To pretend everything's ok.

It's hard to try and be happy
When that is not the case at all.
I am depressed on the inside.

She says she wants us to stay friends
Ha. Is she that blind? Can't she see
Why it's so hard to be happy?
