Thank god

This is the life I chose
To take the stand
Not to be froze
I fight for your land

There is fear within
Held captive and cold
I face the world with a grin
Someone had to be bold

The world is so cold
To hold it alone
I am too bold
I turn to face this world of stone

I pick up my gun
Pin on my badge
This battle has to be won
I acknowledge

I walk to the street
Watching out for my band of brothers
This is not an easy feat
Fighting for others

Others who dont care
I walk in to war
To those who never took the dare
Thank god for the Marine Corps

for Jack Wells one of the greatest guy i will ever know. i love you kiddo see you when you get home!

The very short lines made it seem a bit jagged, but the point you are making is a good one. Those who serve the public with their very lives deserve our admiration, not scorn.
