The Breakdown

by Annabel   Mar 3, 2007

Bonds breaking
In silent places
The walls crumble
And lie resting at our feet.

The warning light appears
But it’s too late
They've already left
To where? No-one knows.

The icy exterior has gone
Behind it only the sadness
The sheet of glass which once we held
Has shattered into a thousand pieces.

A wave of silence sweeps down.
As an overpowering force
Crashes down from nowhere
As the feeling of bitterness becomes you.

The night fades
And the dawn begins.
We breathe again
And every breath we take
Is a step along the way,
To living our lives
Without you.
