To sing.

by Annabel   Mar 5, 2007

Walking into the light,
Searching quickly to find your loved ones faces.
Calm, breathe slowly.
Turn, serenely nod.
Take a final breath
And you're transported.
Into a world where all that matters is
Here and now.
All eyes on you,
Star of the world,
Adored by everyone.
For doing what you love most.
The final note is sounded,
Bows are taken,
Thanks are given.
Once again you are surrounded,
By friends you've never met,
A small girl tugging at your arm,
A mother of two claims she's your greatest fan.
And elderly gentlemen approaches,
"Beautiful dear, brought a tear to my eye"
Gracious thanks to all,
And departure,
In the fear that you'll sing no more.

This was excellent. i'm a bit partial because i, too am a singer. i've been in theatre all my life. you captured some moments very well! i chose this one because it reminded me of one of mine called, 'my voice'. you might like it, although our styles are quite different! 5 for you! i plan on reading more of your work! -beav
